This design is based on P-51 (L2-W) flown by Robin Olds. Olds was a US fighter pilot and general officer in the USAAF/USAF. He was a "triple ace", with a combined total of 17 victories in World War II and the Vietnam War. He retired in 1973 as a brigadier general, after 30 years of service.

His military decorations include the Air Force Cross, Air Force Distinguished Service Medal (x2), Silver Star (x4), Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross (x6) , and Air Medal (x40),  Distinguished Flying Cross (UK) and the Croix de guerre.
